Manchester City vs RB Leipzig – Second leg |
Date: Tuesday, 14 March 2023 |
Kick-off: 21:00 CET|
Venue: Etihad stadium |
Although RB Leipzig bounced back to winning ways with a 3-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach, they are unlikely to beat Manchester City in England because City have won their last six home matches on a bounce.
Both teams were on target as the reverse fixture ended 1-1 in Germany last month. Man City are likely to win the game but are unlikely to keep a clean sheet because Leipzig scored in each of their last six games.
Man City are dominant at home and their recent six home wins on a bounce is just a friendly reminder how almost impossible to get positive results off the Citizens at the Etihad Stadium. RB Leipzig are likely to be the latest victim to whatever Pep Guardiola has prepared for his visitors. They are 2nd in the Premier League with 58 points after 26 matches and will face Crystal Palace at away on Saturday.
The Red Bulls
Leipzig are a decent side and their recent form of three wins in their last five Bundesliga matches can’t go unnoticed. However, they are not a match for Man City and would rather focus on finishing in the top three in the Bundesliga. They are currently at the 3rd position with 45 points after 24 matches.
The Citizens: Ederson, Walker, Akanji, Dias, Ake, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Rodri, Mahrez, Haaland, Grealish
The Red Bulls: Blaswich, Henrichs, Orban, Gvardiol, Raum, Laimer, Haidara, Szoboszlai, Werner, Forsberg
Sunday’s game will be played at the Etihad Stadium [Manchester].
