Peterborough United – West Brom. Mark O’Haire’s prediction
Fresh from putting in their worst performance of the season, West Brom should be expected to bounce back to winning ways at London Road on Wednesday night.
The Baggies were dreadful when sliding to an indefensible 1-0 loss at Newcastle on Saturday. It means Tony Pulis’ men have won just once in eight outings and that game against second tier Bristol City in the FA Cup.
West Brom are being dragged back into a relegation scrap and the Baggies boss has confirmed he’ll draft in a number of fringe players for their midweek trip to Peterborough, including sought-after Saido Berahino.
And Premier League class should tell with Posh without the suspended Ricardo Santos and Michael Smith, injured Jack Baldwin and ineligible Tom Nichols and Adil Nabi. Centre-half Gabriel Zakuani is also considered a major doubt.
A reshuffled defence won’t help home manager Graham Westley, who’s play-off contenders already conceding more league goals than 23rd-placed Oldham in League One fixtures.
