This is a Hoffenheim side that needs a result, and luckily for them, this is probably the perfect time for them to try and get one off of Leipzig, who may just have bigger concerns. With the very real prospect of reaching a European semi-final, the hosts are likely to be prioritising their upcoming mid-week trip to Italy, while since they played on Thursday, they’ve also had less time to prepare for this game than the visitors. Throw in that they’ve stumbled in each of their last two at home, and at an attractive price, the hosts are worth opposing.

Sure, the visitors haven’t been in great form, but that doesn’t change the fact that they can score goals away from home, while the hosts aren’t exactly infallible at the back. Preliminary review and match prediction for RB Leipzig vs Hoffenheim

After keeping their hopes of silverware alive when drawing 1-1 with Atalanta in the Europa League on Thursday evening, it’s back to the cut and thrust of the Bundesliga for Domenico Tedesco’s men, who arrive here in pleasing domestic form.

Sunday’s hosts are now unbeaten in seven league games, five of which they’ve won. It did look as though the Hoffenheim boys had improved on the road, though after beating both Wolfsburg and FC Koln, they came crashing down to earth with a defeat in the capital, losing by three goals to nil to a Hertha Berlin side fighting relegation. That result clearly took its toll, as they were unable to pick up any points at home to Bochum last time out, so it’s easy to assume that confidence will be in short supply ahead of their trip to Red Bull Arena.
