These two sides are simply looking to avoid relegation this season following the table split. Ross County are currently just three points head of the relegation play-off place whilst Inverness are rooted to the bottom of the table and five points off safety.

Ross County recorded a controversial draw in their last match against Celtic as a blatant dive by Alex Schalk resulted in Liam Boyce scoring from the spot to make it 2-2. This late leveller means that County are now unbeaten in their last three.

The Staggies have been very good in the final third in recent weeks. Not many teams score two goals against Celtic and County have now scored in each of their last seven matches. Thankfully for them, they have a player in Northern Irishman Liam Boyce, the third-highest scorer in the league, who can be relied upon for goals. Defensively, County do have problems though and their record 54 goals against is the third-worst in the league whilst they have also kept just one clean sheet in their last 18 matches in all competitions.

Jim McIntyre’s side have improved at home in the last couple of matches with no defeats in their last two matches after a run of four consecutive losses. There have been goals at both ends of the pitch at the Global Energy Stadium this season. County have scored in each of their last 11 at home but have also conceded in their last 14 on home soil and in 94% of home matches overall.

Inverness are rooted firmly to the bottom of the table and look destined for relegation following three straight losses and no wins in their last seven.

Unsurprisingly for the team bottom of the table, Caley Thistle have conceded more goals than any other team in the Scottish top flight with 62 against in 33 games. Additionally, they have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 11 league matches whilst they have also conceded the first goal in 73% of their league matches this campaign. They may not have the worst attacking record in the division, however, their record of 36 in 33 is hardly prolific and, with their poor defence, is not enough to keep them up.

Richie Foran’s men have been atrocious on the road all season with just eight points taken from 16 games. This poor record shows no sign of improving with no league wins on their travels in 11 matches, losing eight of them. Furthermore, they have conceded in all 11 of those games and in 94% of away matches overall.

Ross County are the favourites here and quite rightly given the circumstances. With this in mind, it’s surprising that an even-money price can be had on the home win.
