Slovenia v Turkey. Tancredi Palmeri’s prediction
The last friendly for Turkey is perhaps a slightly odd choice. They’ll be facing Slovenia who’ve not qualified for EURO 2016, and therefore are not that motivated. So whether this will be a test of how good they are or simply a last run through before the big tournament is debatable. Slovenia are also in poor form – which isn’t really surprising for a team who failed to make it to France – with only one win in their last five games, and none of them have come against big teams.
Things have been slightly different from a Turkey perspective, they appear to have hit some decent form and have shaped up under well Fatih Terim. They’ve suffered only one loss in their last 15 games, and that came in Manchester against England in a game where they were very much in it and were perhaps unlucky to lose 2-1. The Turks will want to build some momentum ahead of the big tournament and Slovenia just don’t look a good side at the moment. Very good odds on a Turkish win, considering that Slovenia unlikely will play Oblak in goal while Turkey should do the final test with their Best XI.
