This year Sandgren played in just one tournament on grass in Mallorca where he lost in the second round to Casper Ruud.

Looking at his career results we see that Sandgren’s best record is on grass with a 6-6 win/loss record. In the first round in Wimbledon, the world number 68 beat Slovakia’s, Norbert Gombos. Following an evenly matched start to the match where each player won a set, Sandgren raised his game and won the next two with relative ease. He has a tough match ahead of him though.
