Ufa – Spartak Moscow. Dmitry Khlestkin’s prediction
The season is practically over for Spartak Moscow. They can go up in the table only if Krasnodar lose to Amkar Perm at home, which, give how things have gone this season, looks fairly impossible.
Ufa are in dire need of points, as it’s the only way to avoid relegation. That’s why some bookies give the teams equal chances in terms of their pricing.
Although Ufa have more to play for, Spartak aren’t likely to just give up and certainly have some motivation of their own. They want to help their best player Quincy Promes to become the league’s top scorer.
With four goals in his last three games, The Dutchman is in very good form. He’s scored in 7 of the 11 games since returning from the winter break. Promes has got problems with scoring against teams from the upper table. The four matches out of this 11 where he failed to score in, were against CSKA, Zenit, Rostov (top-3 teams of the season) and Lokomotiv who have one of the best defensive lines in the league.
But when it comes to matches against teams from the bottom of the table, Quincy is merciless, scoring in all last nine games against the clubs placed from 9 to 16. This is why I’m backing his goal at 2.5.
