Utah Jazz need to be more decisive in the second game
Injuries to key players keep on making headlines in the long and grueling NBA season as the Utah Jazz had to play their first game against the Clippers without their point guard Mike Conley due to a hamstring injury. But that didn’t stop Quin Snyder’s men from registering their first win of the series.
Donovan Mitchel stepped up and recorded his fourth 40+ points per game in the playoffs as the Jazz rallied to a second-half 65-49 second-half score to turn around their 13 points deficit into a three-point win in the end.
Mitchell scored 45 points with five assists more than the points scored by Leonard and George of the Clippers combined who had 43 points between them. Bogdanovic and Clarkson added 18 points each to help Mitchell and the Jazz to record their first win.
Los Angeles Clippers did well in-game but came just short of a win
All odds were against the Clippers in this match and everyone predicted it would be a very easy game for the Jazz after a long and arduous series against the Mavericks in the first round. The Clippers were leading almost all the game but couldn’t hold on in the last quarter and when it mattered the most.
Tyronn Lue’s team put up a courageous fight and were a stubborn opponent to the Jazz matching the home team’s numbers throughout the game. The Clippers were even better in the three-point percentage with 38.1% (16-41).
The clippers will feel they did enough to deserve more from this game. But it was expected that Tyronn Lue’s team would suffer physically and in the end, they probably did. The positive is that the defeat was not by a bigger margin but that doesn’t count in Basketball!
Key Points
- Utah Jazz are averaging 121.5 points per game in the playoffs
- The Clippers are averaging 110.9 points per game in the playoffs
- The Jazz are averaging 39.3% from the arc of three points
- 48% is the percentage of the Clippers field goals
Utah Jazz vs Los Angeles Clippers Prediction
As we predicted for the first game, Utah won and took advantage of the Clippers’ physical condition. It has to be said though still, no one thought Tyronn Lue’s team will put up a fight and lose by just three points.
Utah are the favorite to win the second game as well. The Clippers need to stop Donovan Mitchell from scoring more than 25 points if they want to have any chance of winning a game against the Jazz.
We see a good value to bet on the halftime total points at Vbet. In the first game, the score was 65-49, a total of 114 points. We predict we will see lesser points in the second game as the Clippers will play harder defense.
