Venus Williams vs Johanna Konta. Anna Chakvetadze’s prediction
It won’t be an easy game for Venus. She hasn’t had a lot of practice before the first Grand Slam tournament this year. In Auckland, she immediately lost to Daria Kasatkina. Konta lost to Cibulkova in R32 at Hobart, too, though. Williams played very well at the end of last year when they had their only head-to-head until today. In Wuhan, the American won, but the fight was incredibly tough, 7:5 in the third set. Konta is a nasty opponent and she can play very well. Her shots are well-aimed, along with her powerful serve. If Venus has a good day, she can certainly win overwhelmingly. But I cannot believe in that. Konta is tough enough to make a long match. I suggest that the match will go over 21 games.
