Arsenal are one of the league’s form sides having collected 13 points from a possible 18 placing them third in the six-game form table. In contrast, although Watford have steadily improved under Roy Hodgson, they lie 17th in the form table with five points collected.

Preliminary review and match prediction for Watford vs Arsenal

Watford have shown improvements under Hodgson and being three points away from 17th place, they still have a chance of staying in the Premier League.

Although Watford have recorded all three of their clean sheets this season under Hodgson and away from home, their recent home form, and the manner of which they leak goals at Vicarage Road will be of grave concern.

Watford have lost all seven Premier League home matches since the famous 4-1 victory over Manchester United in November. They may need another performance like that if they are to get anything out of this match.

Arsenal are on form and possibly benefitting from no European football unlike the majority of their rivals.

The Gooners also have three games in hand over Man United and West Ham with all three sides chasing the all important top four finish.

With United and the Hammers facing Manchester City and Liverpool this weekend respectively, Arsenal could possibly overtake both sides and still have their three games in hand in the bag.
