The former FC Porto man was out of action for three weeks after picking up a back injury in a pre-season friendly against Yeovil Town.

Atsu is yet to feature for newly promoted Bournemouth since the beginning of the season but stands an outside chance of playing this weekend.

The 23-year-old would be desperate to succeed at Bournemouth after failing to make the grades with Everton last season.

The recovery of Atsu is good news to Avram Grant, who needs the full complement of his key players for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda on September 5.
