Harry Wilson is Bournemouth's joint top scorer this season with seven goals
Bournemouth ended their six-game winless run in the Premier League as they claimed a valuable three points against fellow strugglers Brighton.
While the Cherries remain in the bottom three, victory lifts them up a place to 18th, two points behind Brighton in 15th.
Eddie Howe's side looked short of confidence in the early stages as they were subdued by a fluent Brighton side who won the reverse fixture in December.
The visitors swept forward at every opportunity, and only a superb save from home goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, and an equally important Nathan Ake block prevented Neal Maupay from opening the scoring.
However, the hosts sparked into life just after the half hour mark, creating three chances in quick succession before Harry Wilson dispatched a low drive past Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan from 12 yards.
Callum Wilson's jostling presence contributed to their second goal, with the ball flicking off his marker Pascal Gross from a Diego Rico corner.
Callum Wilson rounded Ryan to register his first league goal for 16 games and while Aaron Mooy scored a late consolation, Bournemouth held firm for their first league win at the Vitality Stadium since 2 November.
