Defender John Boye is upbeat of his chances of making Ghana’s squad for the 2012 Nations Cup despite being out with injury for six weeks.

The 24-year-old has been sidelined with a muscle tear in his left thigh for the duration but insists his chances of making coach Goran Stevanovic’s final cut is as good as any other player.

“I don’t think my chances are limited at all, the injury cannot disturb my chances,” he told Takoradi-based Melody FM.

“I am here to play so if I get the chance and he (Stevanovic) calls me I am ready to play in the national team.”

Boye has earned regular call-ups recently until his unfortunate injury back in September.
