Defender John Boye wants to help Ghana beat Zambia in order to remain on track to fulfilling a personal ambition of playing at the World Cup.

The Stade Rennes central defender has become a Black Stars regular ever since impressing at the 2012 Nations Cup in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The 26-year-old is expected to return to national team duty in the crucial game against Zambia after missing this month's friendly against Turkey through injury.

It is however the motivation of playing at his first World Cup finals that is driving the former Heart of Lions defender.

“Some of the players are determined to win this game (against Zambia) so they can go to the World Cup,” he told Angel FM.

“I have not been at a World Cup before and will very much like to be there.

“We have to win this game all all means to ensure were remain in the hunt for a World Cup place next year.”

Boye who has resumed full scale training at Rennes after recovering from a muscle injury will be one of the sure bets to start against the Chipolopolo on September 6 in Kumasi.
