Brazil to miss Robinho for Ghana friendly

Published on: 01 September 2011

Brazil will be without Robinho for next week's international friendly against Ghana in London.

The AC Milan forward contracted an inflammation in his pubis and has been ruled out of the clash scheduled for 5 September.

The 27-year-old is the second player to pull out of Mano Menezes' selection after Barcelona full-back Adriano was unable to recover from a thigh strain in time for the encounter.

But Menezes will not seek a replacement, after already possessing five strikers in the form of Ronaldinho, Alexandre Pato, Neymar, Hulk and Leandro Damiao.

Brazil will be playing the 2010 Fifa World Cup finals quarter-finalists for the third time at senior level.
