Ghana midfielder superstar Thomas Partey has completed his transfer to English Premier League Arsenal in a bumper deal worth £45million, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The midfielder sealed just minutes before the transfer deadline and moves from Spanish side Atletico Madrid after Arsenal invoked an automatic transfer by paying the full buyout clause of £45m.

This means he has joined the London-based club in a record transfer involving a Ghanaian footballer, sources close to Partey have told Ghana's leading football news outfit, Ghanasoccernet.com.

He will be unveiled by Arsenal next week after he signed all the contract documents to become a player of the London-based English Premier League side.

Minutes later Arsenal confirmed the capture of the Ghana star with a post on social media.

The 27-year-old signed a five-year contract at English giants Arsenal on Monday to end months of speculation over the move of the versatile player to England.

The Gunners have been on the heels of the Atletico Madrid midfielder since the transfer market was opened two months ago.

Partey underwent a successful medical examination in Madrid on Monday before putting pen to paper on deal until 2025, and will pocket £250,000 as weekly wages.

Arsenal have got their man on transfer deadline day after Mikel Arteta's men agreed to meet his £45 million buy-out clause.

Atletico Madrid confirmed that Arsenal have triggred Partey's transfer by paying the full amount to secure his purchase.

"LaLiga has communicated to Atlético de Madrid this Monday at 11:28 pm that representatives of Arsenal have appeared at the headquarters of the football organization in order to exercise the termination clause of the footballer Thomas Partey," Atletico Madrid said in a statment on Monday night.

"In this way, the player has unilaterally terminated the employment contract that bound him to our club until June 30, 2023."

Partey joined Atletico Madrid in 2011 and broke into their first team squad four years later.

The midfielder played 35 matches for the La Liga side last season and scored three goals in the process even though he played in deep midfield which limits his creativity.

Partey is the sixth playefr to sign a permanent deal with Arsenal this season following the signing of Willian, Pablo Mari, Alex Rúnarsson, Gabriel and Cédric Soares.
