Ghana line-up friendlies against Gabon, Sierra Leone

Published on: 07 November 2011

The Ghana FA has confirmed that the Black Stars will play Nations Cup co-hosts Gabon and Sierra Leone in this month's double decker friendlies in Paris.

The Black Stars will entertain Sierra Leone on 12 November before playing Gabon three days later.

The match will serve as the Black Stars final preparatory matches before the squad for January's Africa Cup of Nations is named.

Ghana have been struggling for friendlies but their tough African countries they had planned on playing had reached earlier deals.

There were reports of matches against Ivory Coast and Senegal which the Ghana FA boss played down.

But with Gabon and Sierra Leone keen on impressing, they will give the Black Stars the needed tests to try out their players.

Ghana last played the Azingo Nationale in 2008 and won 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium in a 2010 Fifa World Cup qualifier.

But Gabon have since come on in leaps and bounce and will play Brazil on 10 November.

They will face Niger, Morocco and Tunisia at the Nations Cup finals.

This is not breaking news but i don't believe Ghana can win the African cup and if u dare to insult me or talk thrash then it means u worship football than worshipping God. So like i said Ghana can't win and i am from Berekum.... Africa is to wild for Ghana!!!! AFRICA ARISE.

It will be a good test for the Stars by all standards. I just hope Plavi introduce new faces in the attacking department. Jo Ayew and Boakye Yiadom should be worthy replacements for the over hyped Tagoe and Adiyah respectively. Go Ghana(!)

Why is the black stars squad list not out? What is the fa waiting for? Anyway, I like the name of the Gabon team 'Azingo Nationale'. I won't be surprised if their female side are called the 'azonto nationale'

it is what it is,he will call some new faces for this match but it will be the same squad for the afcon.jo ayew was invited for the brazil game but was left our for the sudan and nigeria game, the gfa and the coach r not fools and they know what they r up to.they know that ghanaians r only satisfied when they get a good results or get far in a competition but not winning the cup cos the players they always invited can never win the afcon.

I saw the provisional Ghana squad on ghanaweb.com for the friendlies in Paris and Jordan Ayew is not even included the roster. I don't understand why he is not included given his hardwork ethic and chemistry between him and his brother. Even worse, the friendlies is being held in France. Please stevanovic invite the guy and make use of him.

Now, Plavi, try out Nana KWESI Asare, Emmanuel Frimpong, Dominic Oduro, Afriyie Acquah, Ransford Osei in these friendlies. at least include them in the training sessions and find out what they have to offer. Anybody knows a good Ghanaian midfielder who can at least shoot on target and has not been called for a tryout? Folks, we are going to have to score and score often.
