Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has suffered a shocking drop in his valuation as he is on the verge of signing for Italian second tier side Monza, Ghanasoccernet.com can reveal.

The 33-year-old, who has been declared surplus to requirements by Serie A giants Fiorentina, will sign the contract with the Serie B side by Friday evening in the town of Monza.

He will undergo a medical at the second tier side before he is handed the contract.

If he passes the medical and signs the contract it would represent a massive drop in the valuation of player who recently played for Turkish giants Besiktas.

The offensive midfielder cum striker will move from Fiorentina and will signed a one-year contract with an option for another season.

Boateng, who played for the Spanish giants Barcelona just 509 days ago, is dropping to the second tier league in Italy to find playing time while also help the ambitious club return to the Serie A.

It would be Boateng's 13th club in his roller coaster career which has seen him play in six different leagues and five different countries.

Boateng has scored at least a goal in 10 of his last 11 campaigns, playing for nine different teams Portsmouth, AC Milan, Schalke 04, Las Palmas, Eintracht Frankfurt, Sassuolo, Barcelona, Fiorentina and Besiktas.

Boateng was last loaned to Besiktas Istanbul by Serie A club Fiorentina.

The 83-year-old Berlusconi bought the club two years ago. In the summer, Monza was promoted to Serie B and is now aiming for a leap into Serie A.

Boateng initially switched from Eintracht Frankfurt to Sassuolo in the summer of 2018.

From there, the 33-year-old midfielder went to FC Barcelona and then to Florence.

The Ghanaian international was also active in the Bundesliga for Hertha BSC, Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke 04 and was also under contract with Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan, among others.
