Orlando Wellington retains job as Ghana U20 coach

Orlando Wellington has retained his post as Ghana Under-20 coach despite failing to defend the title this year, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

He will be assisted by ex-Ghana captain CK Akunnor.

Wellington assistant coach to Sellas Tetteh when Ghana conquered Africa and the World in 2009 but he failed to progress beyond the Group stage at this year's finals in South Africa.

But he was named the Ghana Premier League coach of the Year after guiding Berekum Chelsea to win a historic league title last season.

His assistant Akunnor had a short spell with the Ghana Under-17 team which failed to qualify for the African Championships under head coach Frimpong Manso.

He played at the top level in Europe for years and captained German side Wolfsburg.
