Referee Patrick Kyeremanteng was brutally assaulted at the Robert Mensah Stadium after disallowing a late equalizer for Ebusua Dwarfs.
The referee and his assistant were mercilessly beaten up by irate fans after what seemed a good goal scored by Bismark Asiedu was ruled out for offside.
The home fans poured onto the pitch to carry out the shameful act by over-powering the clearly inadequate security put in place.
The disallowed goal thus ensured Aduana Stars came away from Cape Coast with all three points with a hardfought 1-0 win.
