BREAKING: Otumfou REJECTS Dr Kwame Kyei's resignation request

His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has rejected the decision by Executive Chairman of Asante Kotoko Dr Kwame Kyei to resign, sources close to Manhyia have revealed to GHANASoccernet.com. 

Early on Wednesday morning GHANASoccernet.com reported that Dr Kwame Kyei has resigned from his position as Executive Chairman.

According to information gathered by GHANASoccernet.com, the President of Unity Group of Companies informed the life patron of the club Otumfuo Osei Tutu II of his resignation but His Royal majesty rejected the call.

Dr Kwame Kyei has fallen out of favour with the Board members, who want him out but Otumfuo wants to have a clear insight on the team's activities.

After a meeting with Dr Kyei and the Board members, he ordered them to go look into the activities of Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah.

Sources also disclosed to GHANASoccernet that Otumfuor wants an extensive checks of contracts and partnerships brought to the club by Mr. Amponsah.

In addition, chief of staff at Manhyia, Kofi Badu together with the board of directors will meet the CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah to explain everything after the club's return from the Dubai trip.
