Brighton don Ukrainian flag colours against Liverpool

Published on: 12 March 2022

Brighton chose to show their support for Ukraine amid the current conflict with Russia, wearing third kit which is made up of a yellow shirt and blue shorts, the colours which form the flag of the country.

The Seagulls gained special permission from the Premier League in order to wear their third kit against Liverpool on Saturday.

Despite Brighton playing at home, which meant that they were not required to wear an alternative strip, the Premier League club wanted to make a gesture of support towards Ukraine.

Unlike with previous wars this century, the Premier League and its clubs have made a special effort to show their support for Ukraine since Russia's aggression began.
