Buffon: Juventus must be prepared for winning streak to end

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has urged his team to prepare for when their winning streak ends, and to not let the fallout negatively affect their Serie A title challenge.

The Bianconeri have won 11 games in a row as they charged from the bottom half of the table right into contention for top spot, but Buffon is wisely realistic that all good things must come to an end at some point.

“Eleven consecutive victories don’t happen unless you’re at your best mental and physical state,” said the Italy stopper, praising his side’s heroics.

“However, as with all good things we must be careful, as sooner or later records and streaks of victories come to an end,” he continued.

“We must continue this streak as long as possible, but we must also make preparations for those more difficult times.”

Buffon also took the time to discuss one of Serie A’s top dangermen, Paulo Dybala, who has quickly become a real fan favourite at the Juventus Stadium.

“Paulo has surprised everyone because he took no time to adjust and implement himself into our team,” Buffon mused.

“We knew he would be good for us because of the extraordinary things he did last year for Palermo.”
