BUNDES - Bochum wins against Hoffenheim but keeper misses penalty

Published on: 06 November 2021

When VfL Bochum was granted a penalty in the 74th minute of their Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim, they had a chance to move ahead in their search for a crucial three points.

The hosts, who entered the game in 14th place in the table, chose to send up their goalkeeper Manuel Riemann to take the penalty kick.

Riemann just SKIED the penalty well over the crossbar.

On October 27, the 33-year-old scored the game-winning penalty in Bochum's DFB Pokal shootout triumph over Augsburg.

In the end, it didn't matter too much for the hosts, as Bochum won 2-0, with Milo Pantovi completing the scoring from his own half in the 97th minute after Hoffenheim had sent goalkeeper Oliver Baumann up for a corner in pursuit of a late equalizer.
