Despite Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann being in quarantine after testing positive for the coronavirus, Joshua Kimmich announced on Saturday that he has chosen not to be vaccinated against Covid-19 owing to "personal concerns."
Kimmich is one of five Bayern Munich players who have not been vaccinated, according to Bild.
After playing in Bayern's 4-0 win against Hoffenheim at home on Saturday, the 26-year-old said to Sky that he is hesitant to get vaccinated, "particularly in light of the absence of long-term research."
Despite his refusal thus far, Kimmich stated that he is "conscious of his responsibilities." I follow the hygiene guidelines and have my blood drawn every two or three days.
"Everyone should make the decision for themselves."
"It's simply that I still have some concerns."
