BUNDES - Mueller apologises to fans for abysmal performance

Published on: 28 October 2021

Thomas Mueller, a 13-year Bayern Munich veteran, has apologized to the club's fans and stated that the 5-0 thumping at Moenchengladbach in the German Cup was the worst defeat he has ever faced in the renowned red shirt.

Mueller, 32, made his Bayern debut in 2008 and has now made over 600 appearances for the Bavarian giants, according to ARD.

"We were picked apart from A to Z in the first half,"

"I don't know if I've ever experienced anything like that before in an FC Bayern shirt. We have to apologise to our fans."

"Of course, this was a disgrace for us," Mueller remarked, adding that the Bayern players were startled in the locker room following.

"We had a lot planned. We tried to somehow pick ourselves up, but I don't think you saw that on TV."
