Published on: 03 October 2021

Despite dominating Frankfurt for the majority of the game, Bayern lost their first league home game since 2019 and are currently only one point ahead of Borussia Dortmund in the table.

Seven minutes from time, Kostic, a Bologna winger, blasted a low shot past Manuel Neuer to give Frankfurt their first win in Munich in almost two decades and deliver Bayern their first defeat of the season.

With Kostic's goal, Frankfurt earned their first league victory of the season, relieving pressure on new coach Oliver Glasner.

"It was the first time I have won in Munich as a coach, and you don't forget your first time," joked a beaming Glasner.

Frankfurt captain Hinteregger also stated that, "We've been chasing this win for a while now and have had plenty of chances. The fact that we've got it against Bayern makes it even sweeter,"
