Eintracht Frankfurt have announced a partnership with Ghana Premier League club Accra Lions, set to take effect in June 2025.
The collaboration aims to enhance the clubs' international presence and promote the development of young talent.
Founded in 2015, Accra Lions finished second in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, boasting one of the youngest teams in professional football, with an average age under 20.
The club has gained recognition beyond Ghana’s borders, thanks to its focus on youth development and the establishment of a modern training centre.
The partnership offers Eintracht Frankfurt the opportunity to scout talented players from West Africa and support their growth by optimising training conditions and sharing knowledge.
The goal is to create opportunities for Accra Lions players to advance in international football.
“We are proud to have a renowned Bundesliga club like Eintracht Frankfurt by our side,” said Oliver König, president of Accra Lions FC.
He emphasised that the collaboration would benefit both the club’s players and coaches, providing valuable cultural exchange and development opportunities.
Eintracht Frankfurt's Sporting director, Markus Krösche, also expressed excitement about the partnership.
“This initiative will not only help us discover talent from Africa but also contribute to sharing our sporting and organisational experiences with a dynamic club like Accra Lions.”
The partnership aligns with Eintracht Frankfurt’s strategy to expand its global network and contribute to the growth of football in Africa, particularly in Ghana.
The club aims to play a key role in the region's sporting and social development.
