CAF Champions League: Hearts of Oak demand fair officiating against Wydad in Morocco

Published on: 22 October 2021

Hearts of Oak have demanded fair officiating from officials in their CAF Champions League clash against Wydad in Morocco

The Phobians arrived in Morocco on Thursday ahead of Sunday's second leg encounter in Casablanca.

Hearts won the first leg 1-0, and even that, they weren't pleased with officiating by Angolan referee Helder Martins Rodrigues De Carvalho.

Hearts know any kind of draw against the 2017 Champions League will seal qualification to the group stage for the first time.

“The plan is to make sure that we keep the focus and concentration and put smiles on the faces of our supporters. We want to make Ghana proud. Our focus is not just to go there, sit down and expect them to beat us."

“We want to qualify after the 90 minutes. We are hoping that the referee from Gabon will give us fair officiating which is the spirit of the game," the club's spokesperson Opare Addo said.

The Ghanaian champions will drop to the CAF Confederation Cup if they fail in Casablanca.
