Hearts of Oak striker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has expressed optimism ahead of the CAF Champions League clash with Wydad Casablanca.

The Phobians will host the first leg of the second qualifying round tie on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ahead of the match, Barnieh has said, "It's not about our memory from last season. It's about showing who we are to the world, showing we will make everyone proud. Because how we are in the future will be founded on how we behave today."

The second leg is in a week's time in the Moroccan city of Casablanca.

The winner of the tie will progress to the group stage of the competition - a stage Hearts of Oak haven't reached since 2006.

Meanwhile, the loser will drop to the CAF Confederation Cup.
