Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko George Amoako believes the status of his outfit is much higher than their Kariobangi Sharks ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup showdown.

The Ghana Premier League giants will play as guests to Kariobangi Sharks at the Kasarani MISC Stadium on Saturday in the first leg of the round of 16 contest.

Several football pundits believe the manner in which the Sharks dispatched Djibouti side ARTA Solar 9-1 on aggregate in the last round makes them firm favourites to overcome the Porcupine Warriors.

However, the Reds CEO has laughed off the suggestions claiming that their opponents do not strike fear in his charges as they are not a top notch club in the East African country.

"Getting to Kenya, you don't hear of Kariobangi Sharks but only Gor Mahia, I don’t see why and how this club should put fear in us, we will match them boot for boot," Amoako stated on Oyerepa FM.

"Motivation-wise, we have no problem with that. The look on the faces of my players is very encouraging and hopeful."
