Former Asante Kotoko forward Dauda Mohammed has urged his former side to stay focused on Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup against Kariobangi Sharks.

The Ghana Premier League giants will be aiming for a place in the next round of the competition when they engage Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday at The Kasarani MISC Stadium.

Due to lack of football activities in the West African nation, many pundits believe the Kenyans will go into the game as favourites after they smashed Djibouti side Arta Solar 9-1 on aggregate in the last round of qualifiers.

However, Dauda Mohammed has implored his former club to make their fans proud by picking a result in the game.

"Previously in my days with Kotoko, the time for Africa Inter-club competition was not in our year calendar. Our league ends before competition in Caf commence.”

"Same as now, so the players should beware and not be distracted with no competitive league in Ghana,” the RSC Anderlecht forward told Angel FM in Kumasi.

He added, “The players should be mindful that, Kotoko SC is the club they are representing as the supporters are expecting from them and give all out.”

"The fans will be proud of Kotoko should they eliminate Kariobangi Sharks and qualify to the money zone.”
