The technical handlers of the Black Stars have excused Asante Kotoko’s contingent from the first week of training in order to give them time in their preparations for the return encounter of the CAF Confederation Cup against ES Setif.

Asante Kotoko, who are currently Ghana’s sole representative in Africa, are on the brink of falling flat at the last hurdle at the expense of ES Setif.

The Porcupine Warriors were handed a 2-1 defeat at home against the Algerian side on Sunday.

The Ghanaian giants will travel to Algeria this week for their CAF Confederation Cup 2nd leg final eliminator against Entente Setif on Sunday.

Coach Akonnor handed invitation to six Asante Kotoko players, namely, Razak Abalora, Yussif Mubarik and Ganiyu Ismail. The rest are Christopher Nettey, Ibrahim Moro and Kwame Opoku.

Aside the players, goalkeeper’s trainer Issah Najawu and Masseur, S.K Ankomah have also been excused.
