ZESCO United coach George Lwandamina has lamented his side's profligacy during their 2-1 loss against Asante Kotoko in the CAF Confederation Cup on Wednesday.

The Porcupine Warriors needed two first half goals from Kwame Bonsu and Emmanuel Gyamfi to record maiden win of the campaign.

But the home team were on tenterhooks for the last 15 minutes of the game when the Zambian champions came into the game strongly.

Ghanaian striker Rahim Osmanu climbed off the bench to pull one back and was denied the equalizer by some brave goalkeeping from Felix Annan in the 88th minute.

During his post-match interview, coach Lwandamina believes his charges could have returned to Zambia with at least a point after a strong second half performance.

"It was a very good game, very tight game. We came into this team with the right history but unfortunately we created the chances but we couldn't utilize and we made mistakes which our opponents capitalized hence carried the day otherwise it was a great game to watch."

ZESCO United will aim to return to winning ways on matchday three when they host Al Hilal on Sunday, February 24.
