Caf contact Ghana to host African U20 tourney

Ghana have been contacted by Caf over the possibility of hosting this year's African Youth Championship.

The current political tension in original hosts Libya has forced the continent's governing body to find a new host for the tournament which will be played from 18 March-1 April.

Ghana's deputy Sports minister Nii Nortey Dua was contacted in Khartoum by Caf's Executive Committee and he is expected to relay information back to government in Accra for their approval.

In 1999, Ghana hosted the tournament and won under head coach Guissepe Dosena.

The Black Satellites are keen on defending the title won two years ago in Rwanda and qualify for this year's World Cup finals in Colombia.
