Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is having a tough time of late. Having come through yet another disciplinary problem with Arsenal that saw him stripped of the captain's armband, he set of for the Africa Cup of Nations to represent Gabon.

But now he can't play for his country in Cameroon. The forward first tested positive for COVID-19, ruling him out of their narrow win over Comoros, and now things have taken another turn for the worse.

Aubameyang had overcome COVID-19, but CAF tests have now prevented him from taking part in Gabon's game against Ghana as a suspected heart problem was detected.

"According to CAF's medical commission, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Axel Meye, and Mario Lemina have recovered from COVID-19 but will not be able to play in this match.

"The tests showed cardiac problems and CAF are not willing to take any risks."
