CAF to closely monitor Accra Sports Stadium ahead of crucial Ghana-Sudan clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will closely observe the readiness of the Accra Sports Stadium as Ghana prepares to host Sudan in a critical 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

In an official letter to the Ghana Football Association, CAF confirmed their approval for the venue but emphasized that it will be under strict monitoring to ensure it meets all required standards.

The National Sports Authority and Ministry of Youth and Sports have been working tirelessly to address any potential issues, even after CAF granted the go-ahead. This follows the recent ban of the Baba Yara Stadium, the Black Stars' traditional home ground, due to the poor state of the pitch.

With Ghana drawing one and losing one in their first two Group F matches, the upcoming doubleheader against Kwesi Appiah's Sudan side is crucial. A victory is essential for Ghana to remain in contention for qualification in the group, as they currently sit in a precarious position.
