Hasaacas Ladies on Friday evening lost 2-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns in the final of the maiden CAF Women's Champions League.

The South Africans were superior and deservedly won the encounter in Cairo to become the first winners of the tournament at the expense of the Ghanaian champions.

Woman of the match Andisiwe Mgcoyi assisted the opener and scored the second to seal an impressive victory for Sundowns.

They were reduced to ten ladies in the closing stages of the game following a red card awarded by VAR.

Hasaacas Ladies looked nervous and could not trouble Sundowns. It was a sharp contrast as Sundowns demonstrated their quality in both halves.

They opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when Mgcoyi beat the offside trap and set up Chuene Morifi to backheel the ball into the net.

Sundowns doubled their lead in the 65th minute with Mgcoyi once again beating the offside trap but this time slotting the ball through the legs of Hasaacas goalkeeper.

Sundowns goalkeeper Andile Dlamini pulled off a wonderful save to prevent Hasaacas from reducing the deficit to set a nervy final 10 minutes.

Sundowns end the tournament without conceding a single goal.

Hasaacas Ladies star Evelyn Badu picked up top scorer award with five goals.
