Hasaacas Ladies star Evelyn Badu has been chosen as the best player of the group stage after inspiring the Ghanaian champions to top their group.

Hasaacas won two and drew one to claim seven points from a possible nine, enough to see them qualify for the semi-finals as Group A winners.

Their impressive form in the group stage was led by 19-year-old Badu.

She scored four goals to top the scorers’ chart to the moment and has also won the “Woman of the Match” award twice, as she was voted by the tournament’s Technical Study Group (TSG) as the best in the mini-league stage.

Born on 11 September 2002, Badu was part of the Ghana squad that competed in the 2018 U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. She made her international senior debut with the Black Queens during the 2020 Olympics qualifiers.

But she exploded to stardom in Cairo when scored a brace against Malabo Kings in the opening game, and repeated the feat against AS Mande, winning the “Woman of the Match” award in both games.
