Hasaacas Ladies head coach Yusif Basigi praised her players for playing like a team in their 3-1 win over Equatoguinean side Malabo Kings in their TotalEnergies CAF Women's Champions League opener.
Midfielder Evelyn Badu grabbed the headlines with a brace for the Ghanaian champions.
Her opener was in the 12th minute when she latched home a low grounder.
Five minutes from time, Pepertual Agyekum doubled their Hasaacas Ladies when her in-swinging corner kick from the right landed inside the net.
On the 90th minute, Drepoba Gbogou pulled one back for Malabo Kings after Grace Banwaa failed to deal with a cross.
But Badu struck in the third goal in the 92nd minute with a fine finish.
''I feel happy specially for the players, they had the chance to play as a team. Malabo Kings was a very good side but we managed to pass this match,'' Basigi said in a post-match.
''My compliments go to CAF for establishing women’s football, we are in the right direction. The future looks very bright and it’s a gradual process to become more like men’s football.''
Hasaacas Ladies moved topped of table in Group A ahead of Egyptian side Wadi Degla who beat AS Mande 3-1.
