Ghana FA General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo has confirmed that CAF is yet to approve home venues for both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko in the CAF Interclub competitions.

Reports went rife in the media that CAF has only approved the Cape Coast Sports Stadium as the only venue in Ghana to host the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup for the two Ghanaian giants.

Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko’s home venue Baba Yara Sports Stadium which is currently under renovation has been removed from CAF’s approved list after it hosted the Ghana and Nigeria game in  the 2022 World Cup playoffs in March.

Hearts of Oak also played some CAF Inter- club games at the Accra Sports Stadium last season.

The two clubs will submit their respective home venues to CAF for approval ahead of the season.

The General Secretary in a post confirmed both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko are yet to submit their home venues to CAF for the 2022/23 season.

Asante Kotoko will face Burkinabe side RC Kadiogo in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Hearts of Oak have been exempted from the preliminary round  of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Phobians will take on the winner between As Douanes and ASR Bamako in the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The first leg encounter will come off on October 7-9 and the second leg scheduled for October 14-16.
