Cagliari coach Walter Mazzarri has admitted that Ghanaian kid Felix Afena Gyan was the game changer in his side 2-1 home defeat to AS Roma on Wednesday.
Roma coach Jose Mourinho- suspended for the match- instructed his assistant Joao Sacramento to introduce the untested 18-year-old early on in the second half when the Giallorossi were trailing .
Afena-Gyan flanked Tammy Abraham in attack for the remainder of the game and operating from the left.
He caused a lot of havoc in the Cagliari penalty and
"We were playing great but then that Felix Afena came in, I didn't know him, I had prepared myself for Shomurodov, and he blew us away," Mazzarri said in his post-match.
Roma equalized through Roger Ibanez and captain Lorenzo Pellegrini drilled in a superb free-kick for the match winner.
