Cagliari sporting chief confirms Ghana midfielder Joseph Alfred Duncan will return to Fiorentina

Cagliari sporting director Stefano Capozucca has confirmed the club has no intention of signing Ghana midfielder Joseph Alfred Duncan on a permanent basis.

Dunca, 28, has returned to parent club Fiorentina following the expiration of his loan deal.

Cagliari attempted to make the deal permanent but the club's sporting chief has confirmed there is no chance that will happen.

“ We have no intention of redeeming him (Alfred Duncan). He gave us a great hand but will return 100% to Fiorentina." Cagliari sporting director Stefano Capozucca confirmed.

He joined the club in the January transfer window with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the spell.

But the midfielder’s future at the club is off the window and will return to the Viola when the loan deal expires.

It is believed that the €15m asking price has been the stumbling block as Fiorentina hardly seems willing to grant discounts in order not to budget for losses.
