Striker Caleb Ekuban won his first career silverware on Wednesday when Trabzonspor beat Alanyaspor 2-0 to lift the 2020 Ziraat Turkish Cup at Ataturk Olympic Stadium.

However, the 26-year-old was forced to watch chunk of the match from the bench after his early substitution on 41 minutes.

The Ghana international was replaced by Bilal Başacıkoğlu in after picking up an injury which pushed him to retire.

A goal in each half from Abdulkadir Omur and Alexander Sorloth secured a ninth Cup title for Trabzonspor.

Ekuban joined Trabzonspor on loan last year from Leeds United and after five goals in 29 appearances he was handed a permanent deal.

The Italy-born was runner-up in Albania with Partizani Tirana where he scored 17 goals in 34 appearances.
