Napoli winger Jose Callejon says his equalising goal against Sassuolo at the San Paolo on Saturday evening was important both personally and for his side.
The Partenopei extended their lead at the top of Serie A to four points after Inter tripped up earlier in the day with a 3-1 win over the Neroverdi and the Spaniard conveyed his relief at ending a barren spell infront of goal that dates back to April of last year.
“It was important for me and for all,” Callejon told Rai Sport after the game.
“I scored after so many games and it was the equaliser.
“We won a difficult match against a team that plays very well.
“We are happy, we brought home three precious points.”
Napoli welcome second-placed Inter to the San Paolo in midweek for a Coppa Italia quarter-final showdown.
