Camavinga, the judo fighter who 'Dortmund could've signed for €20m'

As MARCA reported on Sunday, Eduardo Camavinga is a major target for Real Madrid this summer.

The 17-year-old midfielder has impressed for Rennes in Ligue 1 and is being tracked by some of Europe's top clubs.

He can play in any position in midfield, from off the striker to holding midfield, and he showed his qualities in a match against Paris Saint-Germain at the start of this season.

Camavinga was born in Angola but moved to France aged two, where he started to do judo. He gave up the martial art sport to concentrate on football at the age of six.

Borussia Dortmund were one of the first clubs to spot his talent and, when the player was 16, Rennes slapped a 20 million euro price tag on his head.

The Bundesliga club considered that figure too much, but now it looks like they made a mistake.

At the moment, numbers in the region of 80 to 100 million euros are being talked about with Camavinga, but those figures will depend on the impact coronavirus has on football financially.
