Fabio Capello hails Inter and Italy talent Nicolò Barella as ‘without a shadow of a doubt one of the three best midfielders in Europe.’
The 24-year-old has gone from strength to strength, scoring three goals this season in 34 competitive games, but above all providing 10 assists.
“Barella is without a shadow of a doubt one of the three best midfielders in European football. Without a shadow of a doubt,” Capello said on Sky Sport Italia.
“He has vision, stamina, quality and pace. He does everything right. Achraf Hakimi has pace, but the difference is that Hakimi gets there and boots it into the box. Barella places the ball precisely. That is a very big difference.
“Barella wins back the ball and then passes it to start moves. The Inter team has been transformed with him.”
The former Cagliari man has 18 senior Italy caps with four goals and three assists.
