Capello believes Inter are getting great deals on Young and Eriksen

Former England manager Fabio Capello believes Inter are getting great deals on Ashley Young and Christian Eriksen. “I advised Tottenham to buy the Dane.”

The Nerazzurri should announce Manchester United full-back Young today after he had his medical, in a transfer worth €1.5m.

“Young used to play on the left wing and was moved into a deeper left-back role, but he’s ideal playing on the left with a three-man defence,” Capello told Sky Sport Italia.

“He is good with both feet, has vision, runs hard and is not bad defensively. Plus he’s very focused, always available. I think he’s ideal for Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 formation.”

Despite Jose Mourinho’s denials, Inter also remain close to picking up Eriksen from Tottenham, as the midfielder’s agent had dinner with Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta in Milan last night.

“Eriksen is a player of immense quality and vision. He provides assists and scores goals, but above all has this unique vision of the game,” continued Capello.

“I suggested him to (then Tottenham director Franco) Baldini at the time and the deal went through.”

Eriksen moved from Ajax to Spurs in the summer of 2013 for €13.5m.
