Carpi coach praises results but looks to the long road ahead

Published on: 17 January 2016

Carpi coach Fabrizio Castori is pleased his team won 2-1 against Sampdoria, but advises the team that the relegation battle is still long.

Carpi won the second match in a row, thanks to Lollo and a penalty by Jerry Mbakogu. The newly promoted side lays now 17th, four points below Palermo.

“Winning today was important. We shortened our ranking and now we have hopes to avoid relegation”, Castori told Sky Sport.

“The team is confirming that is in a good moment, but the road is still long and we can’t give up” he added.

Castori also commented on the new found balance thanks to the players that were the protagonist of last year promotion: “I wanted to do so also during the summer, before I was sacked. Since we come back to the way of playing we had last season we are doing fine, the team can only grow”.

He concluded: “Carpi is this [one], I hope that results will prove us right”.
