Kwesi Appiah has won the Goal of the Month award for March

Kwesi Appiah has been awarded the Crystal Palace Goal of the Month award for March.

Appiah’s thumping half-volley against Manchester City’s U21s won majority of the votes from Eagles fans.

The 22-year-old becomes the first development player to win the monthly prize.

Having gone down 2-0 and 3-2, Kadell Daniel pulled Palace level again but the thunderbolt strike from the Ghanaian helped Palace to clinch victory.

“I’m grateful to get the award as it was a nice strike," Appiah said

"The ball kept coming over my head and all game when this one came down I thought ‘this is the one’ so I took my time and struck it sweet enough and it went in,”

"Playing in the development has been fun and a great experience and it's always good to be scoring goals and get some game time as well,"

I've been in and amongst the goals this season and fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time to put them away."
